EG17: Avicii-Silhouettes

ACT: Avicii
TRACK: Solhouettes

YEAR:  2012
DIRECTOR:
GENRE: House
MAIN AUDIENCE: M/F15-24
Music Video:

Medium long shot
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VISUALS + LYRICS:
Throughout most of the video there's no link between the visuals and the lyrics making it seem like just a narrative structure, however at the end in one shot the surgeon is diegetically singing the song which forms a relationship to the lyrics from the visuals.

PERFORMANCE, NARRATIVE AND/OR CONCEPT?:
It seems with the video that it's more narrative and concept rather than performance as there's no link with the lyrics throughout the video on until the end when a surgeon is singing but he's not related to the band so isn't entirely performance.

 AUDIENCE IN VID?:
Extreme close up of bottles
The audience is represented within the video by the mise-en-scene with all the alcoholic bottles lined up as if they've just had a party the night before, which is the stereotypical representation of ages 15-24, and there's also a party which leads to a sex scene which is also a common representation of this ages group.

PACE + ANY VARIATION OF PACE:
The video is editted to the pace of the track so where the track is up beat there's been fast paced editing used which aslo provides verisimilitude, but also when the track starts to loose tempo the length of the takes start to loose tempo and start to be longer.

Titles
 TITLES:
There's the common code with titles been used at the start of this music clip to give that cinematic approach that most directors attempt to achieve with music videos.
